How Does it Work

The GlucoMonitor is an automatic and pain-free innovation which will assist diabetics with insulin administration. With microneedles, the administration of insulin will be significantly decrease pain to very infinitesimal pain. The design, which will give the patient an option to administer insulin, will decrease the manual effort and also give the patient control over administration. We’re hoping that with this new innovation for diabetics will be widely used by them all over the world. If this new monitor system is successful, the GlucoMonitor can reduce the risks of health problems that diabetics face by insulin deficiency. In order to help this become reality, developing a solid high frequency wave emitter that can penetrate the skin and gather information on the blood glucose levels, would play a big role. As scientists are inventing the microneedle, we can use those to administer insulin with. For protection and safety reasons, we will be using a specially designed cover that will be automatically suspended for the microneedle to be then attached to the skin. The band will be made up of several layers: fabric cover for comfort, thin plastic protector, microneedle patch, thick gel patch for needle protection and top it all off with another layer of fabric for comfort. The watch will be connected by using bluetooth and the GlucoBand will react by the touch screen buttons that control amount of units of insulin being administered, activation of administration, automatic calculator for bolus and basal insulin. They will require minimal tracking of food nutrition as well. The GlucoMonitor can be the new innovation to hassle-free diabetic insulin administration system.
